Junior DevOps Engineer (@Remote, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru)

About the role:
As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure and automation processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the deployment and operation of our software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. This role requires a working background in cloud technologies, infrastructure management, and automation tools, as well as a solid understanding of software development methodologies.
This role is only available outside the US and not available to any individual based within the US or any US territory.
Here’s more of what you will get to do:
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud.
- Develop and implement automation processes to streamline software development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with software engineers and other stakeholders to define infrastructure requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and reliable software delivery.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement appropriate solutions.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- 1+ years of professional DevOps or Systems Engineering experience
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud, including infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python and Bash.
- Working knowledge of cloud networking concepts.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Kubernetes) and orchestration frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., ArgoCD, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken (fluency in English required)
Helpful, but not required:
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Cloud Certified - Professional DevOps Engineer.
- Deep experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management frameworks like Terraform
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Familiarity with security best practices while implementing Cloud Infrastructure and Delivery Pipelines.
