We are constantly on a mission to add smart, innovative and fun-loving team members, and are looking for a Junior Frontend DeveloperĀ to come join our New York based headquarters in Lower Manhattan.Ā 
Position Overview
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Junior Frontend Developer will contribute to the team that builds and maintains user-friendly interfaces for our website, creating a seamless shopping experience for our customers.
Primary ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Assist in developing new, user-facing features for our e-commerce platform
  • Help maintain and improve the front end of our e-commerce site, focusing on enhancing customer experience and engagement
  • Collaborate with Senior Developers and cross-functional teams including UX & UI to transform design and interaction ideas into functional elements
  • Learn to optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability
  • Utilize HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and various frameworks and libraries such as Vue and React to implement visual elements
  • Gain experience in working with third-party platforms and APIs (such as Rest and Graphql) to integrate dynamic content and features
  • Engage in team activities and agile development practices, contributing to planning sessions, springs, & project reviews
  • Support the development team in managing code versions and deploying updates & featuresĀ 

Qualifications, Skills, & ExperienceĀ 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in Frontend Development
  • Demonstrates alignment with TJ core values: Humble, Adaptable, Mindful, GSD, & Curious
  • Basic understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
  • Familiarity with client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
  • An understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
  • Basic knowledge of version control tools and familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Preferred but not required:
    • Experience with Vue, React, and modern JavaScript librariesĀ 
    • Basic understanding of SEO principlesĀ 
    • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Netlify; and server-less functions is beneficialĀ

Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000 annually
