JOB DESCRIPTION JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Grimco is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer with strong conceptual capabilities who is prepared to take their ideas all the way through to final delivery over digital and print. This role requires a 'can do' attitude with an eagerness to learn about our company and industry. They must also possess the drive to make an immediate impact on a growing department, never satisfied with the status quo and always hungry to learn more. The Junior Graphic Designer position will reside within the company's Marketing Department and will report directly to the Marketing Manager. This person will also engage with the other members of the marketing Team, Product Line Managers, and other company stakeholders, internal and external.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Scale and rebrand print materials including spec sheets, direct mailers, flyers, etc.
  • Create and deliver compelling design concepts for digital graphics, display ads, social graphics, email and web for marketing campaigns and event specific promotions for all Grimco brands.
  • Take tasks from design brief all the way through to implementation on multiple platforms.
  • Any other design and creative tasks needed depending on demand.
  • Maintain brand guidelines in all assets.
  • Ability to work with the marketing team to communicate the stakeholder's needs and message.
  • Stay up to date on marketing trends, best practices, and methods.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of experience in an agency or in-house creative department.
  • Completed bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with a graphic design emphasis.
  • Highly skilled in using industry-leading software and technologies, i.e.: Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Proven graphic design experience with a strong portfolio.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multitask and collaborate.
  • Ability to understand/follow creative direction and incorporate constructive feedback.
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas to peers whilst explaining design decisions.
  • Comfortable tackling problems head-on and adapting to shifting priorities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, & OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

  • Proficient in MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to create new and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced multi-priority environment.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and organize job responsibilities and priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within a Worldwide Brand.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT:

  • Focused training time at our corporate headquarters in Sunset Hills, Missouri.
  • Split between break-out session and hands-on learning environment.
  • Full-time salary includes training period. Travel accommodations and expenses provided per Grimco National Travel Policy.
