What We’re Looking For:

The HR Project Management team is looking for a junior PM to join us.  This individual thrives in planning & organizing projects, is committed to achieving results, and can readily adapt to shifting priorities, procedures and technologies.  They are a phenomenal communicator who takes the time to build relationships and make service their mission.  They are dedicated to continuous improvement; always eager to learn more.

The Jr. Project Manager will lead the execution of small to medium human resources projects through the project management & change management lifecycles. They will work closely with the Senior Project Manager to help the People team to respond quickly to the needs of 2U’s growing business. 

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Project Management 
    • Gather and define project requirements
    • Clearly articulate the objectives and issues necessary to deliver a project
    • Conduct analysis and prepare business cases to support decision making
    • Coordinate and lead the planning and management of assigned projects through completion
    • Monitor project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule
    • Identify ways to resolve schedule issues ahead of deadlines
    • Manage scope and change controls associated with projects
    • Introduce tools and people analytics to improve returns on learning investments and develop insightful and HR reporting
    • Successful execution of projects
  •  Change Management 
    • Manage communications by keeping teammates informed of the status, project deliverables and by managing the issue resolution process
    • In partnership with Internal Communications and Sr. Mgr, develop and implement plans for managing communications to internal stakeholders
    • Drive high-levels of engagement and adoption by project stakeholders
    • Look for ways to improve upon efficiencies and streamline wherever possible

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 to 5+ years in a professional environment; preferred project management experience
  • CAPM certification a plus

While this position is open to remote candidates across the U.S., we will prioritize those who live in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area and who are available to come into our Headquarters in Lanham, MD two days a week.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($70,000 - $75,000), with potential bonus eligibility.  Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
