Proper is seeking a Junior IT Engineer with a collaborative, positive, proactive, easygoing attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for working in IT Support, IT Security, new IT projects, and a fast-paced environment that’s continuously evolving.

Proper is a San Francisco-based tech startup with employees located worldwide. This position is based remotely in Barranquilla-Atlantico Colombia.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide IT Support for a growing team of accountants, managers, engineers, and salespeople
• Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware or software systems functionality
• Manage internal helpdesk system
• Provide IT support to 370+ employees
• Provide antivirus software support and monitoring of all employee machines to ensure all software installed and operating system updates are up to date
• Provide clear and concise communication to key stakeholders about IT efforts
• Provide process documentation on policies to be followed by the entire organization
• Monitor all devices for suspicious activity and behavior
• Manage a remote access solution for support (Teamviewer, anydesk, GoToResolve, etc)
• Provide remote support to users in remote hands scenarios
• Troubleshoot Windows incidents and other issues (knowledge on mac support is a plus)
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding pain points and needs to deliver clear, useful, and precise information
• Immediately and precisely communicate with the team when faced with a roadblock and proactively find a solution with urgency
• Take the initiative to write clear documentation as needed without being asked

Job Requirements

• 1-3 years working experience working as a sole contributor in IT support or on a team of other IT professionals
• Knowledge managing cloud-based Antivirus and applications (SaaS) is a plus
• Be able to identify and implement IT initiatives
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Comfortable working in a geographically distributed and cross-functional environment
• Professional proficiency in English (written/spoken)

Communication

• Work closely with other IT team members, collaborating with other departments and stakeholders, and maintaining open communication channels with employees regarding IT issues and updates.
• Communicate promptly and effectively with all stakeholders regarding pain points or blockers and propose solutions 
• Take the Initiative to write clear documentation as needed
• Provide support and instruction to users in English and Spanish
