Junior IT Systems Engineer (Remote)

What is My Impact?

• This is a Windows Administrator under the Windows Server Operations Team:
  • Perform QA procedure to ensure new and existing Windows servers are in compliance with company standard
  • Support, Manage and Maintain Windows Operating System Platform
  • Manage and Complete Ticketing System
  • Participate DR exercises
  • Participate On-Call support duties
  • Retire Virtual Machines to support business requirements
• Provide support and assistance to: Developers, Application Owners, Infrastructure Support Admins, Database Admins, and other business units/domains.
• Respond to CMS Audits

What Will I Do?

• The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
• Performs installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned technology
• Manages system/application environment and ongoing operations
• Ensures that the technologies are updated with current, stable, and compliant architecture and applications that meet enterprise standards
• Assists with researching, designing, implementing and testing of technology solutions
• Proactively monitors and reports performance and utilization of assigned technologies
• Troubleshoots software and/or hardware issues/failures
• Resolves alerts and performs remediation activities
• Manages problem or escalated tickets and tasks and out of cycle requests from systems/software owners
• Collects and presents data for reporting and planning
• Provides input into processes and procedures related to systems/application administration
• Assists with determining migration and upgrade impacts and diagnosing/resolving technology/application errors
• Collaborates with IT and business area partners on work groups and initiatives
• Assists other IT Systems Engineers in determining best course of action for meeting business needs
• Writes programming/scripting
• May participate in Disaster Recovery planning and exercises
• Performs on-call activities as needed for the environment and technologies

What is Required?

• 2+ years related work experience. Experience Details: Demonstrated proficiency and experience in design, implementation, monitoring and/or troubleshooting technology
• High school diploma or GED

• Extensive working knowledge of multiple technologies and their interfaces and integration
  Competent working in one or more environments highly integrated with an operating system.
• Extensive experience implementing and administering/managing technical solutions in major, large-scale system implementations
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

What is Preferred?

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
• Experience using Agile methodology
• Windows Operating System
• Windows Administration Experience
• CMS audit experience

General Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
