Job Description

We are currently looking for Junior Java Software Engineers to join our teams within the retail industry.

One of our clients is a leading European electronics retailer, established in Germany, known for its wide range of consumer electronics and home appliances, offering competitive prices and exceptional customer service.

Another client is a global leader in software and automation solutions, specializing in optimizing supply chain operations. Their diverse portfolio, which includes warehouse management systems (WMS), robotics, and end-to-end integration, helps businesses streamline inventory, enhance order fulfillment, and scale efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality code: Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code using the best practices and design patterns
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify areas of improvement in existing programs and subsequent refactoring
• Nurture knowledge: continue to learn and improve your skills as software engineer, with the support of your senior colleagues
• Agile Team collaboration: Work closely with other colleagues from your team (Software Engineers, Product Owners, team managers and clients)

Qualifications

Must have:

• 1+ years of experience in software development
• Knowledge of newer Java versions (8, 11, 17), Java ecosystem frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Data and associated patterns (e.g. SOLID principles, Design Patterns)
• Experience with SQL database and ORM (Oracle DB - JPA/Eclipse Link)
• Knowledge about developing REST APIs
• Good problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, to understand client processes and platform flows
• Strong communication skills in English

Nice to have:

• Expertise with Swing for creating desktop applications
• Expertise in software customization
• Experience with IDoc
