Junior Legal Counsel

We are looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join our legal team based in Hong Kong.

Who Will Deliver With You 

Our legal team acts as a key business partner to proactively assess legal risks, shape business direction, and drive decision making. You will report to our Regional Legal Counsel and work closely with our business units and partners across Asia to provide practical and commercially focused legal support and advice.

What You Will Deliver

• Providing legal support for GOGOX on a broad range of business and operational matters (including company secretarial matters)
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of contracts
• Reviewing, commenting on, and driving business initiatives from a legal perspective
• Managing GOGOX’s intellectual property portfolio
• Maintaining and optimizing our filing system for contracts, corporate records, and other documents
• Working with and managing external counsel and agencies
• Conducting legal research on a range of legal topics
• Contribute and iterate governance and process improvements, including developing and managing internal policies, procedures, approaches, guidance, and preferred practices

Who You Are

• Strong academic credentials, with a law degree from a reputable law school or university
• Qualified to practice law in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdiction (non-qualified candidates may be considered if he/she has substantial work experience)
• 1 to 3 years post qualification experience gained at law firms and/or in-house (experience at a platform, e-commerce, or technology company would be a plus)
• Professional level of proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese)
• Exception attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work
• Resourcefulness and proactively seeking opportunities to improve
• Be entrepreneurial and provide quick, concise, creative, and practical legal advice and solutions consistent with GOGOX business objectives, while balancing the need for compliance
• Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to deal with unknown situations and making decisions in highly ambiguous situations
• Ability to progress and work with minimal supervision
