Junior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join our Global Legal team in Amsterdam. The Legal Counsel is responsible for ensuring that the organization's operations are conducted in compliance with legal requirements, company policies and ethical business practices. The Legal Counsel acts as a business partner, provides legal support and advises across various departments and IMC entities.
This (new) position would be a great challenge for a junior lawyer (with experience in the field of contract law), looking to become an all-around in-house lawyer. The role reports into the Senior Legal Counsel of the Global Legal team in Amsterdam.
Your core responsibilities:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and procurement related contracts, including confidentiality agreements, services and technology order forms, intercompany agreements and IT/IP related agreements, etc.;
• Collaborating with and advising local and global business support teams, including Procurement, Operations, Facilities, Events, and Marketing;
• Supporting senior counsel within the Legal Team on projects, as directed, including corporate governance, privacy law matters, global contracts, and M&A/investments;
• Monitoring developments and implementation of relevant new legislation;
• Researching legal issues and updating legal team knowledge resources;
• Assist with other work, such as the standard broker agreements, give-up agreements, facilitating counter party onboarding documents and agreements, etc.;
• Opportunities for learning, development and future growth in diverse subject matters and responsibilities.

Your skills and experience:

• Academic Law degree;
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience at a Law Firm and/or as an In-house Legal Counsel;
• Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with contract law principles;
• Should bring a high degree of pragmatism, sense of urgency and initiative;
• Strong and confident communicator;
• Collaborative team player;
• Ability to act independently and perform successfully in a fast paced, technology driven and at times a high-pressured environment;
• Excellent command of Dutch and English.
