Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented Junior-Level Modeling and Simulation Developer to join a diverse team supporting the Integrated Threat Analysis and Simulation Environment (ITASE) program.

ITASE provides a critical role in our nation's defense by bringing together intelligence-backed, medium to high fidelity threat system models developed across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise into an integrated wargame simulation environment. Parsons has supported this program for ten years, with an established team and customer relationships. Because the need for accurate and integrated modeling, simulation and analysis continues to grow we are expanding our team to adapt to new challenges.

The developer in this role works projects related to modeling and analysis of threat Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) systems; communication systems and networks; and related analysis on all types of foreign threat weapon, sensor, and communications systems. Tasks may include 1) requirements development, simulation architecture definition, and system algorithm characterization; 2) integration of models into engagement-level and mission-level systems-of-systems (SoS) simulations; 3) analysis, development and enhancement of various high-fidelity threat models; 4) design, development and test of communications network models; 5) automated unit, system and SoS test planning, development and execution; support of small and large-scale simulation studies; and 6) system engineering and analysis. The candidate will integrate into the Parsons M&S team and work closely with the appropriate Parsons Task Leads to coordinate requirements, design, and testing of solutions.

The candidate must be self-motivated, a quick study, possess good communication skills, and be willing to work as part of an integrated product team consisting of both Government and contractor personnel. The candidate will become an expert in threat C4 systems, networks, tactics, protocols, and techniques, as well as advanced concepts in modeling and simulation of such dynamic, real-world implementations.

The ideal candidate would possess experience with C4 systems, RF- and EO/IR-based weapon and sensor systems, cyber warfare, directed energy weapon systems, GPS systems, military network communications, and the signal propagation environments associated with these systems. The candidate will work with all-source intelligence analysts, system experts, and MSIC team to develop and maintain model software in C/C++.

What Else You'll Be Doing:

  • Understanding requirements and implementing solutions for modeling and simulation software.
  • Developing software and automated tests using C/C++ and Python on Windows and Linux Platforms
  • Working as part of an Agile software development team
  • Troubleshooting and reporting software anomalies in a complex environment
  • Managing code quality through version control, code review, automated software builds, automated unit testing.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Good C++ programming skills
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a SECRET Clearance

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Secret Security Clearance or above.
  • Experience developing products with regular release cycles
  • Experience developing and supporting software for Windows
  • Software development in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment
  • Linux Software Development
  • Experience working with an AGILE software development team
  • Good written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with a highly technical team including classified customers.
  • Experience with AFSIM, NGTS, and/or ITASE modeling environments
  • Experience designing, developing, or operating code for a distributed processing environment.
  • Experience with working with environmental datasets such as terrain, road networks, atmospheric data, RF propagation data, etc.
  • Experience with Gitlab or Jenkins

Salary Range:

$59,300.00 - $103,800.00
