Junior Ops Res. Analyst

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a candidate to join our Engineering team in Niceville, Florida and on Eglin Air Force Base. This position supports the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME) working groups by assisting the Database Manager with implementing and validating various data for the Joint Munitions Effectiveness Manual (JMEM) Weaponeering System (JWS) software. JMEM products are used to authenticate weapons effectiveness data for use in operations, training, systems acquisitions, weapons procurement, and combat modeling and simulation.

In this position, you will work closely with the Database Manager to review, test, and prepare data prior to integration into various software version databases. To accomplish these tasks, you will use various tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, TestComplete, SQLite/Maestro, MSAccess, various weaponeering tools, and in-house analytical tools.

A candidate must possess a practical knowledge in database design, development, and implementation; and an understanding of advanced database concepts. Must be able to assimilate with multiple and various database models, with an emphasis on relational database design.

A candidate must be comfortable with Structured Query Language (SQL), concepts of normalization, referential integrity through standardized data structure design, utilization of foreign keys, and indexing.

You will work closely with developers and testers to support verification and validation of the data within the software. You will be continuously challenged to learn and grow expertise in new areas.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance; the selected applicant will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment
• Understand the importance of requirements analysis
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Ability to work well both independently and with a team
