Job Description

This position provides engineering support to the design, development, and testing of a Radio Frequency (RF) communications system for a rocket that is the cornerstone of an exciting space program in the new era of human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit. The primary responsibilities of this position include conducting analyses and assessments that support development of the RF system architecture, requirements, hardware design, interfaces, and test processes. The RF system provides critical rocket telemetry during flight and receives commands from ground operators. The candidate will work with other RF analysts, designers, and component vendors to validate the design meets requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field
• 1+ years of experience with aerospace avionics and RF systems
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance
• U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rocket avionics design, development, and testing, including rocket RF communications systems
• Knowledge of RF transmitters, antennas, amplifiers, and RF cabling
• Knowledge of telemetry processing, e.g., encryption and decommutation
• Experience with RF systems analysis, e.g., link margin analysis and interference analysis
• Knowledge of the RS-422 data bus protocol

Location - Huntsville, AL (Some travel required (roughly quarterly) to component suppliers and test sites.)
