As the Junior Security Analyst, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving potential vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and security incidents. This person will have an active role in evolving the aggregation of security events and automation.  Configuring security tools to maximize their value to the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience with AWS or a similar cloud environment. In addition the ideal candidate will have experience building security in by design, using preventative controls, and Infrastructure as Code (“IaC”. This role will report directly to our Senior Security Analyst and have tremendous growth potential to expand into security engineering, threat hunting, and other security disciplines based on the candidate's experience and interest.

Essential duties include:

• Respond to security alerts.
• Increase the coverage and minimize the “panes-of-glass” for security to review events.
• Partner with engineering/IT teams to identify and remediate any security vulnerabilities.
• Participate in business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response exercises.
• Set up new security tools and features. 
• Contribute to the security of end user devices such as laptops and mobile devices.

Position Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a security role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or similar technology discipline, or comparable relevant experience.
• CISSP, CEH, and/or AWS Security Certification is a plus.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code (“IaC”) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Python, JSON, and YAML is a plus.
• Desire to work cross functionally to weave security into the company culture.
• Interest in coming up with creative solutions and automating processes.
• Understanding of and familiarity with AWS native security services.
• Experience improving on security alerting, as well as triaging and responding to any alerts.
• Experience automating processes in support of security programs.
• Familiarity with HITRUST and HIPAA is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
