Junior Software Engineer/Application Developer
Job Description
Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Junior Software Engineer/Application Developer to support our DOD customer at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. We are seeking developers who desire to create innovative solutions for complex sensor data challenges, utilize flexible thought processes, and can work in a close-knit team environment to produce the high-quality product that our customers expect.
Responsibilities include:
- Consult with customers/users to define their business requirements or problem areas and use technical expertise to provide innovative solutions
- Support requirement analysis, software development, and software integration
- Evaluate and integrate Government and Commercial off-the shelf (GOTS/COTS) applications to satisfy user requirements
- Follow formal development methodologies adhering to design specification, design techniques, standards and established development guidelines
- Develop and maintain software technical documentation to assist in application maintenance and deployment
- Test software components for adherence to the user requirements
- Assist with the preparation of user and administrator documentation
- Adhere and support AGILE process-based development
- Plan and or implement DevOps processes and techniques for Cloud and non-cloud applications.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance required
- 1 to 4 Years' experience with program software development experience. Possess technical knowledge of procedures and processes required to support activity; in lieu of degree, must have 5 years of relevant experience
- BA/BS in computer science, computer engineering or related fields
- Experience in the following required: Linux, Java, JavaScript, HTML, C++, SQL and MS Office
- Experience in Perl, Gitlab, Docker, Jira, and Visual Studio Code; highly desired
- Experience with data analytics applications; highly desired
