Junior Systems Engineer

Summary

Tudor’s global infrastructure team is looking for a junior systems engineer who is excited about automating and maintaining a best-in-class infrastructure.  This person will be responsible for automation and administration of a highly reliable infrastructure in support of technology services across the firm. We operate a 24x7 mission-critical environment which features virtualization, Windows, Linux, and enterprise storage.  The ideal candidate for this role will arrive with knowledge of these technologies and have the aptitude to quickly learn.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for core services, which include, but are not limited to VMWare, Windows, Linux, and storage systems.
• Engaging with members of the Infrastructure and DevOps engineering teams to provide ongoing support.
• Be an active participant providing input on Infrastructure projects and planning.
• Perform onsite data center tasks to include racking of new hardware and working with vendors on installations and upgrades.
• Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with all stakeholders is a must.

Job Qualifications

• Strong academic background with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience automating solutions leveraging Windows or Red Hat operating systems at a top tier financial or technical firm.
• Professional level certifications in infrastructure administration, automation or scripting preferred.
• Must have demonstrated the ability to have contributed to complex engineering and automation projects.
• PowerShell, Ansible, Python or shell scripting proficiency are required.
• Working knowledge of the following technologies:
• VMware vSphere Virtualization
• Data protection with backup and recovery solutions
• Windows/Red Hat Administration.
• Experience with Dell/HP server hardware configurations and tools..
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities evidenced by organized, analytical thinking and demonstration of timely delivery of projects.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
