Junior Tableau Admin/Engineer

This person will serve as an important member of LabCorp's Analytics team focused on supporting Tier 1 Business Intelligence (BI) analytic server administration. This person is part of a team, responsible for the administration and support of internally and externally facing multi-node Tableau servers. Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting Tableau developers/development, application integration and to end-user setup and administration.

Primary Responsibilities

• Administer Tableau software and servers in multifaceted environments
• Maintain multiple 24x7 highly available production environments
• Proactively collect and monitor server and workbook metrics, conducts performance tuning and capacity management
• Resolves Tableau and customer issues within the service level agreements
• Manage security at Site level, creating/managing users, groups, projects, sub-projects, and licenses. Integrates with both OKTA and Active Directory
• Plans and manages software/hardware updates and upgrades; implements in a timely manner
• Runs and configures Tableau server extensions, web data connectors, and DBMS clients (Snowflake, HANA, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server)
• Looks for opportunities to optimize the Tableau server deployment
• Interact with other internal departments such as database administrators, web technologies, Identity Management and outside consultants to deliver scalable and highly effective analytic solutions for the business
• Participate in and contribute to the implementation of best industry practices

Required Skills/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an analytical discipline or equivalent experience
• Proven experience with Tableau server administration
• 5+ years overall IT experience
• 2+ years Tableau Administration preferably in a clustered high availability architecture
• Familiar with Tableau's Resource Monitoring tool and Content Migration tool as well as with basic command line skills using tabcmd and tsm.
• Proficient with troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause analysis and formulate solution recommendations
• Familiar in scripting skills such as Python or PowerShell
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Works under minimal supervision with a high degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity
• Willingness to learn new technologies at an accelerated pace
• Provides clear communication on issue identification and resolution
• Practical skills in deploying large scale environments processing millions of records per day in a high-availability environment

Desired Skills/Experience

• Experience with IBM DataStage/QS, IBM Cognos, SAP BusinessObjects, Crystal, SAS, HANA or DataBricks
• Project management and SDLC methodologies
• SQL Programming, Data modeling and SQL tuning
• Experience with connecting applications with OKTA, AD, OIDC and SSO
• Data warehousing experience. Preferably: DB2, Oracle, HANA or Databricks
• Unix and Windows scripting
