Junior UI Designer

As a Junior UI Designer, you will bring user-flows for one of Solsten’s core products to life with creative, thoughtful UI. Collaborating with UX and Engineering, your focus will be developing original, elegant, and consistent designs that make psychological data intuitive and actionable. Your day-to-day will be focused on tasks that span the product development lifecycle and empower our design team.

• Collaborate with UX and PM partners to build innovative UI solutions for a new product.
• Craft creative, user-centered design solutions that express Solsten’s brand and solve the user’s needs.
• Execute design tasks and support projects, developing your skills throughout the design process (discovery, exploration, communication, completion). Gather and incorporate feedback from your manager and mentors frequently.
• Prepare designs for implementation, speccing all UI and interaction details throughout a user-flow, delivering to engineers, and refining designs once implemented.
• Own parts of the design system, building new components to be user-friendly, identifying global changes, and following through.
• Bring energy to your teammates in the form of curiosity, ideas, and inspiration, becoming part of Solsten Design’s culture.
• Develop your visual craft throughout projects and occasionally supporting internal and marketing design needs.

• 2+ years of UI design experience (design, test, launch, iterate)
• Excellent portfolio of real and spec UI design work for desktop, mobile, and responsive products demonstrating a passion for visual craft.
• Experience working directly with engineers to ensure product excellence at launch.
• Fluency articulating and applying visual design principles (color, shape, typography, hierarchy, gestalt, etc).
• Expert in Figma and Illustrator. Proficient at prototyping, and motion.
• Bachelor’s degree in design, art, or equivalent professional experience.
• Bonus: Passion for gaming and psychology.
• Bonus: Experience in the gaming industry or on SaaS product experiences.
