Juniper Network Engineer
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and implement Juniper-based network solutions, including routing, switching, security, and wireless technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather network requirements and design technical solutions that align with business objectives.
- Configure and manage Juniper network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and security appliances.
- Monitor network performance, identify and troubleshoot issues, and conduct regular audits to ensure optimal network functionality.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including Juniper firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions, minimizing impact to network operations.
- Perform network capacity planning to anticipate and address future network infrastructure needs.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging Juniper technologies, recommending enhancements to the network environment.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for Juniper-related network issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and select Juniper products and services.
- Mentor and guide junior network team members in Juniper networking best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven work experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on Juniper technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of Juniper networking equipment, including Junos OS and Juniper security platforms.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, architectures, and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and MPLS.
- Experience with network security principles and best practices for Juniper devices.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools for maintaining network availability and performance.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate across teams and levels.
- Relevant certifications, such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, or JNCIE, are highly desirable.
