Job Description

The Education Strategist role is a key member of our education team, acting as a connecting point between our internal teams and the key stakeholders and decision-makers in school districts. They provide thought leadership in education technology transformation while aligning innovative strategies with core educational initiatives. This helps districts achieve their goals and outcomes, while driving growth and transformation. They provide leadership through strategic planning and consultation around the collision of technology and instruction to transform teaching and learning.

An Education Strategist must demonstrate the ability to assess educational goals and translate them into qualifiable, quantifiable, and tactical solutions. The Education Strategist provides recommendations in customer initiatives where technology helps solve a given challenge.

This person illustrates the alignment (or misalignment) between strategic goals and key educational business decisions regarding people, processes, and technology. The Education Strategists work to develop an integrated view of the customer by making recommendations based on customer engagements and deep experience and expertise.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Commitment to assisting districts to achieve their strategic goals
  • Serve as a consultative strategist to the Superintendents, CIO, CTO, CAO, CFO, Directors, and other key leadership within the territory
  • Provide consultative support, value add engagements, and oversee key territory opportunities
  • Be an educational advisor consulting on leading educational trends and possess conceptual and practical expertise in the some or all of the following: Classroom Transformation, Cybersecurity, School Safety, Service Enablement, Networking, and Device Ecosystems
  • Expand thought leadership through keynote presentations, featured speaker opportunities, and CDW sponsored opportunities at strategic events within the territory
  • Report on the educational challenges, needs, interests, current trends, and potential for new products/services.
  • Connect resources to the needs of the district and leverage all funding streams for success.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills through public speaking, presentations, and creative writing
  • Provide a high degree of collaboration with territory sales personnel. Involve appropriate resources to ensure the successful outcome of engagements and subsequent projects.
  • Develop intellectual property (e.g., whitepapers, deliverable templates, solutions, case studies, etc.)
  • Provide feedback to management groups regarding trends and opportunities.
  • Work closely with CDW sales teams to formalize solutions that were discovered through customer engagements
  • Demonstrate strategic time management and multitasking skills.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications
  • Master's degree in educational administration, curriculum, and development, instructional technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in district-level educational leadership including leading system-wide initiatives
  • Minimum ten years experience in education with increasing levels of responsibility
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate and orchestrate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills and creative thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/projects, meet deadlines, and facilitate change.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong track record of creating and implementing new district-wide initiatives
  • Experience leading state-wide or regionally recognized programs
  • Deep integration into the edtech leadership ecosystem
  • Relevant edtech, education, or leadership certifications and recognitions
  • Ability and strength to create concisely messaged, well-designed, and informative presentation content
