There is an increased desire for more near real-time data supporting event-driven architectures and delivery of support for our Veterans benefits processing. As a Kafka engineer, you know that organizing data streams and events can yield pivotal insights when it’s gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced Kafka engineer like you to help our clients deliver the critical data supporting Veterans benefits processing through fine tuning, optimizing and providing better insights into the performance of the data streams and topics.
Here, you’ll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your experience in analytical exploration and metric driven Site reliability engineering while you manage the scalable platforms for your clients. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience Linux operating systems
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing and maintaining complex data applications at enterprise scale
- 3+ years of experience with AWS technologies including EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3
- 3+ years of experience as a Confluent or Apache Kafka Administrator, with working experience using Confluent supported connectors – Oracle CDC, JDBC and Salesforce
- 3+ years of experience with installing, upgrading, maintaining, and supporting Kafka in a cloud environment
- 1+ years of experience with large databases, especially Oracle and Oracle LogMiner
- Experience with DevOps tooling for Infrastructure-as-Code like Ansible and Terraform as we as pipelines to create the Kafka platform on Kubernetes
- Experience with logging, monitoring, alerting for a Kafka platform utilizing tools like ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics
- Experience with developing and implement procedures that enhance the performance of the Kafka platform
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- Experience with distributed data/computing tools including Spark, Databricks or Hadoop,
- Experience with Agile engineering practices
- Experience creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
