Kettleman Laborer-Pavement Markings (100% Travel Position)

Flasher Equipment Co. (FEC)is looking for Kettleman Laborers for our pavement marking crews. This is a very physical and labor-intensive position. You must have a strong back and be able to work in the outside elements. This is a traveling position. FEC pays for your hotel and lunch and provides per diem for your dinner meals while out on the road. You can expect to be averaging 60+ hours a week. We typically work for 2 weeks at a time and then go home for a long weekend. This schedule and hours may vary depending on the weather. FECis a growing company with the highway industry, with lots of room to advance. The highway industry is a consistent job field that does not depend on any outside industries or political parties. Come join the FEC team!*Applicants must have a valid license and be able to pass physical and drug screen. * Job Responsibilities: • Work with highway striping crew to install thermoplastic, waterborne paint and other pavement marking materials. • Perform and complete all work in compliance with DOT and quality guidelines, while maximizing production. · Must be able to lift consistently 50 lbs. for extended durations. · Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. • Properly load material on trucks. • Maintain proper safety equipment and uniform required for each job. Qualifications: • Self-starter with a strong work ethic. • Previous experience in pavement marking, highway construction, asphalt paving, or a related field, is a plus. • Must pass pre-employment background checks for criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing. • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record, a CDL license is preferred. • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations. • Carry out simple arithmetic functions. • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanics. • Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology, including smart phones and applications. • Ability to adjust to changing work schedule. Physical Requirements: • Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds to 100 pounds. • Occasionally lift and move more than 100 pounds. • Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving equipment and machinery parts, moving traffic, fumes, and airborne particles. • Noise level of the work environment is moderate to loud.
