ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Key Account Manager will work directly for the National Chain Director, as well as collaborating with the Regional Sales teams to maximize sales opportunities at Couche-Tard, Circle-K Atlantic, Parkland and Sobeys. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement business strategies that align
with these retail chains in an effort to drive sales growth. The Key Account Manager will be successful by utilizing several different skill sets, including the ability to manage chain customers, develop fact-based category leadership programming, as well as communicating across several internal and external stakeholder groups to drive sales execution in the marketplace. The Key Account Manager will be working to develop and execute agreements and contracts, with ample autonomy and support to thrive.

Ideal location, Colorado or Texas, other US locations considered in the West or MidWest

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage National and Regional Chain Accounts (Alimentation Couche-Tard, Parkland,
    Sobey’s, etc.)
  • Work across internal departments to resolve all customer issues
  • Collaborate with the Trade Marketing and Category Leadership team to develop custom
    Chain Retail Programming to drive rate of sale and incremental product placement within
    these retail chains
  • Develop and deliver successful retail programming partnerships that maximize ROI sales
    budget management in mind
  • Effectively communicate with internal departments and retail customers to develop and
    execute sales strategies
  • Work with internal departments to renew Retail Partner contracts
  • Routine management of sales execution and compliance of agreements/contracts with
    retail chain accounts

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Key Account Sales experience, preferably in the consumer products industry
  • Proven sales leadership ability with advanced business development skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Analytical working knowledge using IRI and Nielsen to provide retail customers with fact-based category insights to elevate sales leadership position
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Highly self-motivated, results oriented, and ability to drive category leadership sales execution
  • Strong internal and external customer orientation with the ability to succeed in a team environment
  • Highly adaptable and inherently motivated to develop a portfolio growth strategy within the industry
  • Industry experience in Tobacco or Vaping categories
  • Sales and/or Trade Marketing Management experience
  • Understanding of the Juul customer and vapor industry

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field

SALARY RANGES:
Salary varies by role, level and location, and is dependent on the cost of labor in a given
geographic region among other factors. These ranges may be modified at any time.
LOCATIONS:
Tier 1 Locations: San Francisco Bay Area and New York Metro Area
Tier 2 Locations: Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington DC, San Diego, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Sacramento, Hawaii and North Carolina
Tier 3 Locations: Rest of US including Alaska and Puerto Rico
Tier 1 Range:
$113,000—$153,000 USD
Tier 2 Range:
$104,000—$140,000 USD
Tier 3 Range:
$94,000—$128,000 USD
