Knowledge Management Specialist
Job Description
MetroStar is looking for a Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist that loves embracing all types of knowledge used by teammates in support of process analysis, improvement, and reengineering. As the KM Specialist, you'll be a part of our Defense and Intel Division, which is responsible for providing Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance Support to the US Army Product Manager Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program.

You're a great fit if you can:
- identify internal/external best practices and provide a framework to ensure the capture, harnessing, and exploitation of intellectual capital
- develop and implement policy and program guidance governing the implementation and management of KM initiatives
- determine how knowledge content will be structured, shared, controlled, and made easily accessible for the non-homogenous needs of the KM community
- implement methodologies for sharing these best KM practices across the entire community using KM knowledge maps, virtual teaming, online meetings, and other synchronous and asynchronous KM technology enablers
You'll love our Knowledge Management Specialist role if you have (This is the stuff you MUST have to be a fit):
- 10 + years of KM experience
- a master’s degree
- an active Secret clearance
We'll REALLY love you if you can (This is the bonus stuff that makes you stand out):
- contribute to the design, set up and maintenance of internal/external supporting websites and portals used for explicit and tacit knowledge exchange
- provide guidance to Lessons Learned Teams responsible for identifying and capturing best practice information for inclusion into KM systems
What your day will look like:
- coach and champion online communities of practice, mentors, topic leaders, and coaches across the initial entry training community
- implement strategies to effectively use and share explicit and tacit knowledge
- monitor and maintain processes for identifying and supporting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), mentors, and coaches
- facilitate the sharing of best business practices across the enterprise
