The Product Marketing team plays a central role in developing, positioning, and bringing our products and services to market. At PayPal, the Product Marketing team works closely with product managers to provide the customer & market insights needed to build product strategies & roadmaps; and guide product development from conception to launch. When products & features are ready for launch, the Product Marketing team provides the product positioning and market insights to develop GTM plans in the Sales, Marketing & Comms teams.Â
The Product Marketing Centre of Excellence is responsible for ongoing innovation, development and central repository of key Product Marketing frameworks, processes, templates, tools and methodologies. As well as for ensuring Product Marketing team members and key stakeholders receive best-in-class Product Marketing training and certification. The team also engages in relations with the external Product Marketing community in tech for best practice sharing.Â
Responsibilities:Â
The  Product Marketing Knowledge Training role will be responsible to ensure our people – existing Product Marketing team members, new joiners and key stakeholders – learn top notch Product Marketing methodologies, and that they get applied to the work.Â
Within the context of the broader product development lifecycle, this includes customer-centric tools & techniques such as an understanding of foundational research sources, how to find magic moments, identify segments and priority use cases, root cause analysis, empathy map, customer jobs and journeys, how to articulate a good problem statement, problem distillation and sizing, competitive analysis, primary customer consideration needs, kano model, formulating the value prop, benefits messaging hierarchy. All to be leveraged by the broader team – for various global solutions in payments, shopping and financial space, across consumer and merchant segments.
- Establish an ongoing Product Marketing skills training program via qualified external trainers
- Over time build up expertise to run some trainings independently
- Manage ongoing Product Marketing skills level tracking, certification and badging for the team
- New joiners onboarding program and mentorship
- Share knowledge and trends, embedded in the external Product Marketing community, capture in internal hub
- Occassional sparring partner in ongoing product initiatives, advice on methodologies and gaps
 QualificationsÂ
- 4+ years working experience in a product marketing role, both inbound and outbound, or in a design thinking / knowledge management / training capacity. Ideally from a tech start-up or tech companyÂ
- Strong customer-centric mindset
- Ability to set up and evangelize programs for larger teams around knowledge, methodologies, training
- Ideally, already knowledgeable in product marketing best practices, trainer & consultancy landscape
- Ability and interest to build up expertise and run select trainings independently over time
- Interest to connect to external product marketing forums and community, or ideally already embedded
- Excellent written presentation and oral communication skillsÂ
·       A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experienceÂ
- Ideally, experience in multi-market and multi-sided (ie B2C + B2B + C2C) environments
·       Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic global environmentÂ
