Summary:
The main function of a lab engineer is to operate lab instruments to characterize samples, drive root cause analysis specific to batteries and other consumer electronic products. The typical lab engineer will work with lab managers and other engineers to determine on the technical problem statement and lab hardware instruments in order to carry that out (if not familiar with methodology)
Job Responsibilities:
• Connect with management to identify the problem statements, and drive root cause analysis on that statement by identifying internal instruments.
• Learn, utilize and grow skills to drive the projects on other different problem statements using in-house lab instruments
• Maintain lab instruments to generate reliable data and cross collaborate results from different sources.
• Report and present data and mitigation actions as needed.
Skills:
• High attention to detail. Ability to learn new techniques and grow. Prior experience in battery FA and/or consumer electronics. Perform detailed root cause analysis on technically complex failures
• Identify and define appropriate characterization techniques to solve complex problems.
Hands-on work with various tools including x-ray imaging, microscopy, and spectroscopy techniques. Cross-correlate data from various techniques to drive towards conclusions. Proficiency with excel and reporting tools such as keynote / powerpoint
• Ability to interpret, analyze and evaluate given information relative to root cause analysis.
• Self motivated, persuasive, and analytical.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelors degree in engineering required.
• Experience working with research labs.
Note:
2 person interview onsite for 2 hours
Battery experience preferred
may surpass 12 months
