The Role:

The Lab Supervisor position at Meati is a critical role within our brand new 100,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Thornton, Colorado - nicknamed the "Mega Ranch". Our process to create delicious and nutritious meat alternatives out of mushroom root begins in the lab, where mycelium begins its journey before the fermentation and food processing stages. This role will manage and oversee all aspects of the processes that occur within the lab, ensuring quality, timeliness, safety, and good energy from start to finish. The position does not have direct reports.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the SOP database
• Managing communication between Operations and analytical teams.
• Understanding analysis/sample flow
• Performing lab solution ideation, tracking and follow-up, communicating and escalating as needed
• Managing Sample flow into, and data flow out of the laboratory
• Data management
• Liaising with purchasing for NetSuite upkeep and performing lot code analysis as needed.
• Scheduling tasks within the lab
• Ordering inventory
• Managing data and the many Excel spreadsheets/implementing alternative solutions.
• Maintain records and schedules for recurring lab upkeep and training.
• Lead Daily Direction Setting (DDS)/shift handover conversations

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in life science, or microbiology is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in a microbiological or wet chemistry laboratory.
• Ability to learn quickly, work well with others and participate as part of a team.
• High attention to detail, dedicated to a high caliber of work performance.
• The ideal candidate will have a background in fungal biology, statistical skills, Microsoft Excel proficiency, and experience with JMP

Compensation:

$61,000 - $81,000 including a potential annual bonus and equity. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
