Job Description
Summary
This position is located within the Biological Control of Insects Research Laboratory for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in Columbia, MO.
In this position, you will perform grounds maintenance and assist with preventative maintenance chores at the research laboratory using simple tools and implements.
This is a term, time-limited appointment with an initial duration no less than 13 months and can be extended up to a total of 4 years.

Qualifications
Physical Effort:
- The work involves light physical effort: using vacuum cleaners and dry mops; running lightweight powered scrubbers and buffers: continuously standing, bending, stooping and reaching; lifting and emptying waste baskets; pushing carts loaded with wastepaper; and occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds.
- The work will often be performed outdoors involving exposure to extreme temperature. Indoor work may involve exposure to dirt, dust, disagreeable odors and chemicals. The employee may be exposed to the possibility of minor injuries (cuts, bruises, etc.).
