Some of what you'll be doing:
As a Laborer ā Clean Team Member for our Marine Maintenance department, you will be responsible for the cleanliness of spaces in and around Port facilities.
⢠You will be doing routine cleaning of public restrooms, Port of Seattle office spaces, employee breakrooms, and common areas.
⢠You will be maintaining a clean work area.
⢠You will be preparing cleaning materials and solutions for disinfecting and sanitizing.
⢠You will be responding to urgent cleaning needs around Port facilities.
⢠You will operate pressure washers, vacuums, and floor scrubbers for daily cleaning duties as assigned.
Who you are:
⢠Experiencedā You have one (1) year of janitorial and custodial experience in, or related experience.
⢠Educatedā You possess a high school diploma.

⢠Equipment Knowledgeā You have familiarity using different types of equipment such as hand and power tools, pressure washing systems, and vacuum cleaners.

What else you need to know:
⢠Driverās Licenseā You will need a valid Washington State Driverās License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.
⢠Work Scheduleā Your normal work schedule will be 4 days, 10-hour shifts, with a start time anywhere from 10:30am to 2:00pm (40 hours per week). You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.
⢠Work Environmentā You will primarily be cleaning public restrooms and some Port of Seattle office spaces.
⢠Washington State Residency Requirementā Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
⢠Overtime Eligibleā You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.
⢠Safety Requirementsā You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
⢠Security Requirementsā As the successful candidate, you must obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) within the first three months of employment.
⢠Union Representationā This position is represented by the Laborersā union, Local 242.
