In this position

The Launch Coordinator will support/coordinate overall process for product launches, including ensuring delivery of product, key milestones, and product content.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

  • Manage the 6-person hourly Incoming Quality team that responds to floor calls related to parts with suspected incoming quality defects
  • Gain an in-depth working knowledge of all the key and critical parts for all 3 current vehicle lines
  • Work with plant production, MP&L, Engineering and other support departments, to analyze and resolve short-term and long-term incoming quality issues
  • Hold meetings (both in person and WebEx) with Ford vendors to work on resolutions to incoming quality defects
  • Oversee internal plant scrap process
  • Work with the plant dimensional controls team to test part specifications coming from vendors
  • Write, organize, and maintain records related to QR billings against suppliers, when charged for defective incoming parts
  • Hold training sessions for new and current plant salary and hourly employees regarding IQ and scrap process, to ensure ongoing and robust processes
  • Manage/coordinate campaigns for quality holds directly related to incoming part issues

Qualifications

You'll have

  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ years of previous supervisory experience or 1+ years of manufacturing experience

Even better, you may have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, preferred
  • Safety and Quality experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
  • Six Sigma: Black or Green Belt certified
