Summary
The Law Enforcement Officer is part of the team that protects and provides a safe and secure environment for Board staff and others on Board property on a 24 hour, seven day per week basis.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 20.5 years of age at the time of application.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record, both of which must be maintained.
- Ability to carry and use a firearm in accordance with Unit, Board and System requirements.
- Ability to wear the issued uniform and wear and properly use issued gear while performing his/her work functions.
- Ability to meet the medical standards for the job and successfully complete a comprehensive physical screening which will include a psychological evaluation and a medical examination to determine ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation.
- Ability to take and successfully pass periodic physical examinations and screenings.
- Must successfully pass a background investigation and successfully complete all of the Board's mandated initial training for law enforcement officers.
- Ability to work under demanding physical conditions including sitting and standing for long periods (while maintaining full alertness, running to get emergency gear, climbing multiple flights of stairs to reach incidents or victims, assisting victims to safety (including carrying or pulling a victim), working long hours under adverse weather conditions, physical confrontations with threatening individuals, and other hazards associated with law enforcement and protection work functions at the Board.
- Must have the physical conditioning necessary to be able to quickly react and respond to incidents.
- Ability to carry up to 165 pounds at any given time, including defensive and protective equipment such as a baton, handcuffs, CPT mask, and WMD protective masks.
Education
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
