NOV marketing is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Layout Designer to join our diverse creative team. As a Layout Designer, you will assist with the composition and production of marketing collateral to support segment and company-wide business initiatives. The ideal candidate should be a self-driven individual with a strong aesthetic eye and fundamental knowledge of layout, typography, and color theory for both digital and print.

A current portfolio of work is required for consideration and submitted with application.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with brand managers and clients to understand the scope of a project and understand how to actualize the requests appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of fellow creatives.
  • Deliver clear and compelling designs for a wide range of print and digital collateral including marketing and internal material, brochures, technical summaries, infographics, presentations, tradeshow graphics, and social media images.
  • Edit/retouch photography.
  • Uphold the visual integrity of the brand and possess the ability to manipulate it into creative solutions.
  • Manage time wisely and responsibly.
  • Self-proof for errors to produce accurate, high-quality work.
  • Pre-flight files for production.
  • Follow best practices for file and asset management in a shared server environment.
  • Strive to continue evolving skills and technique

Qualifications:

  • A current portfolio that showcases a variety of composition designs is required with application for consideration.
  • 5 or more years of professional experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Communication/Fine Art, Marketing, or related discipline required.
  • Position is onsite located in Houston, TX.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
  • Experience in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Skilled at multi-tasking across multiple projects.
  • Ability to conceptualize and communicate visually with strong typography and composition skills.
  • Ability to understand and implement brand standards.
  • Ability to absorb and execute artistic direction/feedback.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of pre-flighting files for production.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent time management capability.
  • Have a heightened awareness of current design trends.
  • UI/UX skills a plus.
