Lead Accountant

Purpose of role

We are looking for someone to join our dynamic Group Finance team to support the Head of Technical Accounting and External Reporting in driving improvements to Dyson’s financial close and statutory accounting processes and ensuring statutory filing compliance globally. As the business expands and evolves, we are looking for someone who is enthused by changes and key to drive and implement improvements.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to drive forward how the Dyson Group enhances the integrity of our financial close and statutory reporting processes globally. You will work closely with the Group Finance teams based in Singapore and UK, along with the finance directors, executives, and other senior stakeholders, as well as the shared service accounting teams in Poland, India and Asia Pacific.

We are looking for someone who has financial reporting and statutory accounting experience and enjoys communicating with a wide range of different teams and people.

Accountabilities

• Support the development of the Group’s accounting policies
• Collaborate with markets and support functions to ensure compliance to the Group’s accounting policies
• Provide oversight and support to market teams to ensure that we meet compliance deadlines for all our statutory filing requirements
• Provide accounting advice to the various finance and/or business teams and draft technical accounting papers to conclude on accounting topics
• Involvement in key projects to ensure accounting accuracy from a financial reporting and statutory accounting perspective

Skills

• 5-7 years of experience in accounting and compliance
• Qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA or local equivalent)
• Good accounting knowledge in SFRS and/or IFRS
• Experience in dealing with accounting close and financial reporting
• Experience in handling external audits and financial statements preparation
• Strong interpersonal skills, including communication across a global set of stakeholders
• Flexible in approach with good organisational and prioritisation skills
• Self-starter, proactive and able to quickly grasp issues, with a mindset to drive change and improvements
• High levels of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Logical mind-set and a problem solver
• A strong appetite to drive and embed change across the organisation

Desirable

• Experience with SAP S4 Hana and One Stream
• Big 4 experience in initial years
