Our Internal Audit Department is currently seeking an Internal Audit Specialist to join our growing team in our Worcester, MA office. This is a full time, hybrid, exempt role.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position will provide an exceptional individual with the opportunity to be part of internal audit's strategic team administration process while gaining audit experience. This role includes five areas of responsibility: providing support for audit committee meetings (20%), preparing audit committee reporting (20%), providing administrative assistance to the internal audit management team (25%), assisting with internal audits (25%), and assisting with internal investigations (10%).

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

Under the direction of the General Auditor and internal audit management team:

  • Provide support for audit committee meetings including managing calendars, communicating with attendees, compiling presentations, and delivering meeting materials.
  • Prepare audit committee and senior leadership presentations.

Under the direction of a senior or intermediate internal auditor:

  • Perform internal audit procedures as outlined in an audit program including control and compliance testing.
  • Perform quality review of audit reports and audit files.
  • Manage audit report review and distribution process.

Under the direction of the General Auditor and internal audit management team:

  • Provide administrative support often involving highly confidential information.
  • Manage the General Auditor's calendar and schedules meetings.
  • Provide telephone support including answering inquires and routing calls.
  • Manage daily office functions including, but not limited to ordering office supplies, processing payments, filing, and preparing mailings.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, reservations, and off-site meetings as needed.
  • Assist with new employee onboarding.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of electronic audit files and records retention management.
  • Assist with audit software system administration.
  • Serve as a team member for ad hoc projects.

  • Deliver a superior level of support while maintaining a customer service focus in support of a department.
  • Enable leadership, management, and staff to focus on delivery of key business priorities by reducing their administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with others in the department in completing the annual audit plan.
  • Foster and contribute to a positive morale in the organization.
  • Participate in special projects within the department.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • Prefer 1-2 years of insurance related experience.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree is desirable.
  • Able to administer confidential information professionally and discretely.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple and changing tasks and demands.
  • Able to be flexible with work schedule including occasional late hours during quarterly distribution of Board materials.
  • Able to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels internally and external to the organization.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team player with minimal supervision.
  • Requires use of technical and business vocabulary and a detailed knowledge of the organization's operations and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and abilities.
