Job Purpose

Join our Distributed Energy Resources team as a Lead Analyst working on NY state's Gas Demand Response programs working to reduce peak gas demand and creating a more reliable and sustainable network. In this job, you will manage Gas DR programs in UNY and DNY, including enrollment process with customers, performing winter readiness activities to address peak gas load reduction, performance of customers in the program.

The Lead Analyst will help achieve goals that attribute to a successful Gas DR portfolio.

In this position you will collaborate with the Sales and Solutions team, Gas Planning teams, marketing and customer insights teams within National Grid. Additionally you will manage customers enrollment, customer performance during events and manage communications with customers during and after the winter Gas DR season.

Key Accountabilities

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Coordinate with Sales and Solutions team to manage all aspects of DR program implementation, from customer applications, metering coordination with customers, event operations, event communications, event performance cards, to customer incentive payments.
  • Coordinate customer feedback on programs, including in-season and post season customer feedback to support future program changes, if needed.
  • Manage aggregator relationships, including coordinating with aggregators during the application process, discussing customer performance, managing payments, and soliciting feedback.
  • Monitor, forecast and report on achievements towards DR savings targets
  • Coordinate outreach activities with Sales teams and Metering groups, as well as coordination with Marketing teams on messaging and collateral as needed to support Sales teams
  • Leads the implementation of new demand response programs into the market in support of demand response savings targets
  • Ensures the effectiveness of existing programs and services in the marketplace and establishes continuous improvement actions to correct any issues that might prevent the full efficacy of the demand response portfolio
  • Contributes to regulatory filings, including developing testimony, presenting to regulatory bodies, testifying, and responding to information requests.
  • Ensures that the demand response portfolio supports the National Grid's overall strategy and goals. Also ensures that those programs are meeting the expectations of regulators and stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required and 5 to 10 years of experience.
  • 5 years of Program or Project management experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Experience working in any of the following circumstances is preferred: - at a utility, within a regulated industry, in the clean energy space, or working on demand response programs, including at an aggregator
  • Preference for someone who understands the utility demand response and peak demand reduction programs
  • Preference for someone with the ability to conduct energy analyses
  • Is recognized as a credible, knowledgeable, and effective professional who drives change, builds collaborative networks across business units and end-to-end processes, and delivers results.
  • Demonstrates the ability to translate customer needs and market conditions into program changes, balancing the value of different solutions; understands how best to utilize them and drive greater performance, taking into account the wider business context.
  • Must be agile, a team-player and able to see the bigger picture.
  • Is visionary in understanding the issues which National Grid is facing today and possesses the ability to make complex ideas or situations clear, simple, and easy to understand.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Sales force, PowerPoint

Salary

Upstate NY: $103,000 - $121,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
