As Lead Analyst you will coordinate the full operational value chain of AAM’s private debt activities including data management, invoicing, and documentation management.

The Private Debt Operations team will also cover private corporate actions, cash and trade operations, but not conduct these specific tasks directly rather coordinate the process with the existing global teams of AAM.

Ultimately, the team will be a center of excellence of private credit specialists to support front office and help raise operating standards and mitigate operational risk in close cooperation with AAM’s global Operations and IT functions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Be driving force for building up the new Private Debt Operations Team at Aegon Asset Management
• Provide guidance to more junior team members
• Acting as a key point of contact for the Private Debt front office teams and the wider operations and IT team.
• Work closely with Technical Portfolio Managers of the Front Office.
• Data management of loans in scope including supporting the loan set-up from contracts into AAM’s systems and process including independent data control
• Invoicing to borrowers.
• Bank account set-up, collect signatures, archive documentation.
• Trade operations support (complete checklist before process trade).
• Process loan payments.
• Help resolving cash breaks and cash flow reconciliations.
• Implementation, review, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
• Insuring that the Private Debt operations department has adequate written policies and procedures/working instructions in place with appropriate governance over those documents.
• Continue to develop understanding of AAM Private debt product range though front office interactions and scheduled training sessions.

Experience

Approximately 4-6 years of experience in middle office loan servicing and settlement, and trade support.

Essential knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Proven track record in successful borrower onboarding and fund launches within a global asset management business.
• Excellent written/oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• The ability to deliver excellent customer service. 
• Working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment across different time zones.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Dutch is a must.
• Ability to establish strong effective communication lines with key stakeholders to ensure effective information sharing.
• Excellent Microsoft Office Skills: Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Experience with Aladdin a plus.
• Good sense of humor

Education

• Relevant Bachelors / Master’s degree or equivalent, perhaps supplemented with CFA, CAIA or similar.

Department Information

The Private Debt operations team coordinates the full operational value chain around the Private Debt activities of Aegon Asset Management. The team will be staffed with three/two specialists and will create a local value hub close to the front office with Dutch language skills, private market focus and mandated with upskilling, improving operational processes, and mitigating operational risks in its area
