Job Description

Lead API Developer

This role requires strong technical and development skill sets in API Design/Implementation, API Management, Micro services, micro front ends and Domain driven design fundamentals

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with architects, partners and fintechs to design /develop Micro service and micro front ends
  • Understand Domain driven design (DDD) and establish customer view for OMNI Channel API layers & Microservices
  • Analyzes, influences, and translates business requirements into API(s), Establish ad-hoc POC for different API integration patterns
  • Provide guidance to developers across the US, India Technology on self-service Design, implementation, testing, governance, and deployment of APIs using the latest technologies (API management API Gateway/ Service Mesh and Ingress / Cloud Gateways) and best practices
  • Enable product/technical teams across the organization by promoting a culture of API first approach
  • Builds strong partnership & develop different patterns with Data Architecture team to ensure feasibility of architecture solution with data transformation and modernization direction.
  • Strong problem solving, debugging and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the entire API development life cycle: design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring
  • Leverage analytical, quantitative, problem solving and organizational skills that resulted in an outcome

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ Development experience using Java Full stack, Python, JavaScript and/or Node.js, WSDL/SOAP/XML and REST/JSON, GraphQL/ gRPC, Swagger or equivalent
  • Development experience using Spring Boot and Suite of Spring services, Kubernetes (Open Shift, EKS) , Istio, exposure to Angular and micro-frontends fundamentals
  • 3+ understanding and developing Microservices, Design Patterns, Domain Driven design fundamentals, CI/CD Jenkins, Electric Flow, Gitlab, Github, Docker, Web servers, Application servers, AWS
  • 2+ years of experience integrating with API security standards, including Required Strong awareness of latest web standards (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect, JWT Tokens, OAuth Tokens & others)and secure coding practices to prevent fraud, abuse.
  • Experience in Agile tools
  • Knowledge in Load balancers, firewalls, DMZ and other network concepts will be an advantage

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in defining current and future state architecture models
  • In depth knowledge of cloud platforms AWS(Primary) and GCP(Secondary) along with strong understanding of Security best practices and Well Architecture Framework
  • Experience in migrating monolith on-perm applications to cloud using Refactoring, DDD, Re-architecting and Re-platforming approach including 12factor
  • Experience in DevOps tools, Automated deployments and containerization
  • Consult with customers to solve business problems by adapting current technology and/or capitalizing on emerging technology for competitive advantage to meet the strategic objectives of TIAA
  • Conduct demonstrations for different proof-of-concepts, design patterns and presentations to executive management.
  • Understanding of agile methods (SAFe) and processes, and capability of supporting agile product teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt

Base Pay Range: $124,300/yr. - $207,100/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
