Lead Application Developer - GFT - Credit Risk

Leads in the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Applies extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments.

What will you do?

• Analyzing features such as feasibility, associated costs, time, and the compatibility of new programs with existing programs, and hardware. Ensuring that expected application performance levels are achieved.
• Consulting on business assessment and requirements analysis processes, for the development of hardware and operating systems.
• Performing complex application programming activities, including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining, and modifying complex applications programs.
• Coordinating coding, testing, implementation and documentation of application solutions.
• Lead the team to achieve milestones with clear planning and technology expertise.
• Manage existing ETL processes to support existing processes and build the next generation ETL processes in Cloud.
• Execute in a creative & collaborative environment driven by agile methodologies with focus on CI/CD, Application Resiliency Standards
• Experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the team
• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in around data ingestion & transformation on-premise and in cloud
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize tasks and work with the scrum master/development team to meet program timelines
• Mentor team on technical aspects, participate in design/code reviews to ensure code is designed well, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Minimum 10-12 years professional software development experience delivering highly scalable, high performance applications with core skillsets in Data Architecture, ETL implementation.
• 10+ years experience with Java frameworks, ETL/Spring Batch, Python, SQL, SDLC
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral along with good presentation skills.
• Strong leadership skills managing a team of developers focused on data pipelines, providing oversight on implementation, performing code reviews, and managing Production rollouts
• Working experience using big data technologies (Spark, HDFS) on medium to large scale datasets is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of DevOps concepts and tools (git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, UCD, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Knowledge of best practices, architectural patterns in Data-prominent ecosystem.
• Knowledge and experience in non-functional requirements like Security and Performance.

Nice-to-have

• Experience in Big Data ecosystems
• Cloud Practitioner Certifications
• Building applications in python
