Lead Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ownership of automated testing frameworks within our Dev Ops build pipelines for next gen products including Municipal Justice Cloud and Virtual Court.
• Complete software testing and activities for development user stories within an Agile process.
• Develop testing protocols for various aspects, such as functional testing, regression testing, migration testing, defects, and implementation scenarios.
• Develop and maintain automated regression suites/packages to be compliant with changing requirements and features.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to build out test plans for existing and new functionality.
• Participate in code review of standards, procedures, tools, and quality improvement processes.
• Identify, analyze, and document details of defects found during testing and work directly with software developers to find solutions and develop retesting procedures.
• Participate in agile processes and ceremonies to collaborate with the team to define stories, identify tasks, estimates, and acceptance criteria.
• Mentor and provide day to day guidance to the junior members of the software test team. Review work to ensure compliance and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Sciences, Management Information Science, or Business. Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• Prior experience in software quality assurance required, Tyler software or related experience helpful.
• An owner on projects and responsibilities.
• An ability to pick up new skills.
• Desire to learn.
• 4+ years of experience in municipal government domain, QA, automation engineering, testing frameworks, CI/CD, dev, or client support.
• Hands-on experience or desire in designing and building automation frameworks from scratch or using open-source tools.
• Experience working with various source code and CI/CD management tools e.g., Git.
• Experience in testing and automating APIs and UIs.
• Ability to read/write SQL.
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, organization, and communication skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to travel occasionally.
