About Cognizant's Digital Engineering Practice:

At Cognizant Digital Engineering, small cross functional teams comprised of a Product Manager, an Architect, Full-Stack Developers, DevOps Engineers and a Big Data analyst build higher quality software faster siloed individuals working independently. Small, nimble engineering teams builds collective empathy and comradery, thus increasing their ability to anticipate unforeseen development scope changes and maintain high quality deliverables. Across our US Studio system or within client development sites, our Digital Engineering teams ideate and develop innovative cloud-based solutions following a Lean-Agile process with DevOps culture. Working in Cognizant Digital Engineering provides DevOps engineers consistent opportunities to push digital boundaries while growing their exposure to transformational technologies.

Responsibilities: • Develop MVP User Stories (Re-usable components/ API's / UI / Mock stubs etc.) • Support backlog creation, prioritization, and Story mapping • Support in technical design and solutioning • Ability to work across tiers - UI development, APIs, databases (basic developer level tasks) • Ability to utilize DevOps CI/CD pipeline, create/configure build and deploy jobs • Experience working in XP and pair programming model and understands and performs TDD • Responsible for assigned task delivery and quality and knowledge transfer through daily pairing with Duke team members • Overall ownership of team delivery. • Acting as mini-anchor for the team.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: • Key technology skill set - AWS platform and services knowledge including AWS Lambda, S3, Glue, Step Functions, API Gateway, and Python, CI/CD using Terraform/Concourse/Jenkins • Additional technology skill set - Kafka, Spark, MongoDB/DynamoDB/Aurora • 3+ years of experience in cloud development (preferably 5-7 yrs but may not have all been in AWS) • 5+ years of relevant experience and 3+ years of experience in cloud development (preferably 5-7 yrs but may not have all been in AWS.) • Energy Domain experience preferred • AWS Certification - Associate or Architect • Ability to understand the future Architecture and guide the team with require technical direction • Hands-on, Individual contribution and Mentor other developers in team • Support team members on troubleshooting • Motivated and energetic engineers who are passionate about software modernization • Must be able to clearly communicate with team members and leadership • Participate in paired programming and XP development • Strong ability to work independently when required • Turn complex ideas into manageable pieces of work

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
