Lead Business Intelligence Developer - Qlik Sense

Medica's Healthcare Economics department, within the finance division, is looking for a lead Qlik Sense developer to join our team.

You will be responsible for end-to-end development of new Qlik Sense applications and maintenance of existing Qlik Sense and Qlikview applications. This includes meeting with customers to solicit and inform requirements, understanding complex data warehouse structures to obtain necessary data, and designing and developing the final application.

You will also participate in Qlik platform administration and governance efforts including working with IT and support consultants to manage upgrades and with other BI team members to design and implement Qlik best practices.

In this role you will serve as our team's expert in all things Qlik Sense including data loading / scripting, application architecture, report building visualization, Nprinting, task scheduling, QMC / administration, etc.

This is a lead level position that will take on advanced responsibilities with minimal supervision and provide project direction, coaching, and mentoring to other staff. Success in the role will require ability to communicate effectively with non-technical customers and less technical team members.

Responsibilities:

• End-to-end development of new Qlik Sense applications
• Maintain / update existing Qlik Sense and Qlikview applications
• Migrate of Qlikview applications to Qlik Sense
• Develop reports using Qlik Nprinting
• Maintain deep understanding of Qlik Sense platform including data/qvd architecture, application design and development, administration of security roles, streams, tags, reload tasks, etc. and serve as a subject matter expert for other team members
• Participate in Qlik Sense governance group, and lead Qlik Sense User Group meetings
• Assist in team project planning / management
• Develop a deep understanding of Medica's data warehouse and other data sources
• Contribute innovative ways to visually represent complex data

Required:

• Bachelor's degree computer science, mathematics, information systems, computer engineering, related field or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of relevant experience including substantial work with Qlik technologies
• Advanced proficiency writing SQL
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts (star schemas, joins, indexes, etc.)
• Strong communication skills and experience working with a team
• The ability to work both collaboratively and independently

Nice to have:

• Experience with health insurance data & analytics
• Experience with Snowflake data warehouse
• Experience using Git for version control and collaborating using tools like github, gitlab
• Qlik certifications
