Job Description

INTRODUCTION:

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Lead Buyer, Global Procurement to join our Procurement team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent negotiation skills, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to create and present detailed reports. The Lead Buyer, Global Procurement will be responsible for managing the procurement process, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions. Must have experience with Software as a Service (SaaS). Experience with Workday, and Salesforce is a plus.

This role requires working from our local Hyderabad office 2-3x a week. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:   

• Solution-Oriented Purchasing: Evaluate business needs and budget constraints provided by stakeholders and identify products or services that meet the requirements within the allocated budget.

• Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet the company’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Drive cost savings through innovative sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work internally with key stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and forecast upcoming purchases.

• Procurement Navigation: Assist internal stakeholders in navigating the procurement process efficiently.

• Contract Management: Monitor contract dates to avoid passive renewals and consolidate contracts across business units when necessary to optimize costs.

• Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to secure the best prices and terms.

• Supply Chain Monitoring: Monitor supply chain availability and recommend appropriate purchasing actions based on the availability of needed goods.

• Inventory Analysis: Analyze inventory levels and project upcoming needs to ensure adequate stock without over-purchasing.

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and offer insights to enhance the procurement system as it is upgraded.

• Order Processing: Act as a backup for processing requisitions, update management and customers on the status of orders, and ensure timely delivery of purchased products.

• Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.

• Report Preparation: Prepare comprehensive reports on purchases, including cost analyses and procurement performance metrics.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 

• Minimum of five years of experience in procurement, with international buying experience.

• SaaS (Software as a Service) experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to create and present detailed reports.

• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.

• Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software.

• Familiarity with SaaS procurement processes; experience with Workday and Salesforce is a plus.

• Strategic Sourcing: Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.

• Solution-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to assess business needs and budgets and identify suitable products or services that meet these criteria within the given budget.

• Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

• Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in forecasting, contract management, and record-keeping.
