Lead Cloud Engineer (Carrollton, TX)
Job Description
Job Duties: Responsible for design, planning, implementation, and growth of cloud infrastructure. Duties Include:
1. Design and develop enterprise cloud capabilities and solutions for all cloud service types; IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
2. Manage Cloud-Native product delivery across multiple Public Cloud providers for the company's different business units.
3. Collaborate with businesses and application teams to accelerate migrating to the Cloud and define cloud deployment strategies based on application and business requirements.
4. Ensure minimizing manual work by developing scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning and configuring cloud resources.
5. Provide expert level design and engineering support towards the successful delivery of IT's cloud project portfolio.
6. Work closely with the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and cloud architects to adopt strategies and ensure common TR Technology standards across all cloud implementations.
7. Educate and guide internal teams of experts to build effective Cloud Native solution using Cumulus.
8. Lead Production Readiness Review (PRR) meetings with the product teams as a pre-requisite for deployments to the production environment.
9. Continually evolve deployment methods and processes to effectively deliver products in various environments, including Production & Pre-Production environments.
10. Collaborate with multiple levels of technical staff across various geographical locations in a dynamic, agile team environment
11. Participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, cost-effectiveness, and high availability in the cloud.
12. Design, implement, and test disaster recovery and business continuity architecture
13. Create and implement automation for cloud platforms as well as monitoring and alerting purposes.
14. Implement strategies to transition from traditional access management best practices to role-based access management strategies aligned and scalable for the cloud.
15. Review/update security policies, standards, requirements, and solutions covering different cloud deployment and service models.
16. Contribute to and support the corporate Enterprise Cloud strategy, standards, and best practices associated with all aspects of Cloud offerings.
(Will Supervise 4 Sr. DevOps Engineers' & DevOps Engineers' work.)
Position Requirements: Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related technology field, plus 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer/Software Engineer or related occupation handling multiple operating systems and scripting languages.
In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related technology field, plus 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer/Software Engineer or related occupation handling multiple operating systems and scripting languages.
Experience may be gained concurrently, and must include the following:
1) 2 years SAP implementation experience using SAP R/3 or ABAP.
2) 3 years database design and development experience using SQL and PL/SQL & Database Objects, Metadata API, and developing and maintaining Oracle security features including controlling privileges.
3) 3 years of experience in the field of cloud computing such as AWS using Terraform/ CloudFormation.
4) 3 years of experience in SCM, Build & Release management tools, automating Continuous Integration and Continuous deployment/ delivery pipelines.
5) 3 years of operational experience in monitoring and maintaining production workloads.
6) Good experience in disaster recovery solutions.
7) 1 year of hands-on knowledge on containers and orchestration using Cumulus (Docker & Kubernetes).
8) 1 year managing at least one junior programmer
