We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our CloudOps organization at Zoom. This is a unique opportunity to apply your software engineering expertise and passion for platform engineering to create a world-class internal platform that drives innovation and productivity across Zoom.

About the Team

The CloudOps organization at Zoom is responsible for building and evolving our Cloud Foundations Platform. Our team helps empower our development teams to efficiently provision and manage resources across our multi-cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain our Cloud Foundations Platform.

• Implementing robust and scalable automation solutions for resource provisioning and management across multiple public cloud platforms.

• Fostering a culture of self-service and empowerment by creating intuitive interfaces and APIs that enable development teams to efficiently interact with the platform.

• Applying software engineering best practices, design patterns, and architectures to ensure the platform is modular, maintainable, and evolvable.

• Applying DevOps/SRE best practices to ensure the platform is reliable and performant.

• Seeking opportunities to continuously optimize the developer experience and reduce cognitive load by simplifying complex processes and abstractions.

• Mentoring and providing technical leadership to junior engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

• Participating in technical discussions, code reviews, and collaborating with other teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with the broader Zoom ecosystem.

What we’re looking for

•  8+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on platform engineering and cloud infrastructure.

• Have expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform), understanding of infrastructure automation principles, and exceptional programming skills in Python.

• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Be able to participate in on-call shifts and incident management and work after hours/weekends for application releases/deployments.

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration platforms.

• Have expertise in designing and building internal platforms and tools that enable efficient operations and development workflows.

• Have knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for cloud infrastructure.

• Have familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working in iterative environment 

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$118,600.00

Maximum:

$259,500.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
