As a Lead Content Designer at Upwork you’ll create clear consistent and compelling content that plays a pivotal role in the user experience across our platform. You’ll design UX content for our SaaS product think in terms of flows and interactions and ensure that language functions as a system that embodies our brand while adapting to meet users where they are. Join us in shaping user experiences and driving innovation across our platform.

Responsibilities:

• Write clear user-friendly product copy that simplifies complex ideas and flows.

• Identify information architecture (IA) issues and recommend improvements.

• Act as a catalyst for vision work across Upwork’s core product experiences embedding with key initiatives and influencing others.

• Support teams in launching new features ensuring seamless integration into existing product flows including AI-powered capabilities.

• Contribute insights to inform product strategy aligning short-term and long-term business goals.

• Design scalable content and champion continuous improvement of content standards through a design system.

• Collaborate with and support teammates in iterating and improving content quality.

• Apply UX research and data to inform content decisions.

• Manage content backlogs prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Present work for feedback and revise based on input.

• Proven experience driving UX writing IA and content strategy decisions for SaaS products or applications.
