Job Description

ABOUT ROCKET MONEY 🔮

Rocket Money’s mission is to empower people to live their best financial lives. Rocket Money offers members a unique understanding of their finances and a suite of valuable services that save them time and money – ultimately giving them a leg up on their financial journey.

We’re looking for a Lead Data Analyst to join our growing team. As a member of the Data team, you’ll collaborate closely with our various product leaders and their teams to guide our analytics approach and how it is implemented. This will involve using your entire toolkit, and perhaps adding a few more, to understand our customer’s behavior, guide the experimentation driven approach we use, and building tooling and frameworks that not only measure product performance, but ladder up to key company KPIs.

ABOUT THE ROLE 🤹‍♀️

In this role, you will:

  • Start as a senior individual contributor, getting hands on experience with how our product operates and how we analyze its performance. After several months, transition into a player/coach role to grow and lead a team of Data Analysts
  • Form strong relationships between the Data Analytics and Product teams, becoming an integral part of the product development process
  • Identify and drive analytics projects that help inform the strategic direction; both as its own company and in the context of Rocket more broadly, that Rocket Money should take
  • Partner closely with our Product team to translate our product roadmap into data problems and help prioritize the work that we should undertake
  • Provide guidance on the design, and as necessary shepherd the analytics, of complex experiments
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and your data teammates in Analytics Engineering to architect, plan, and implement how our teams should approach telemetry for new and existing products
  • Become an expert in our self service analytics tooling. We use a mix of eventing data (Amplitude) to understand user behavior in the app and tabular data (Looker) to count people, money, and measure key KPIs
  • Become the expert on our product data, understanding the nitty gritty details of our credit card, net worth, budgeting, and everything in between
  • Always be pushing us to be better - whether that be encouraging us to try a new tool, or helping another analyst work through a technical problem

ABOUT YOU 🦄

  • You have 6+ years of experience in the analytics space, taking on progressively more complex work and senior roles
  • You have 1+ years of leading and managing the day to day of an analytics team
  • You intuitively understand how to measure a business and how various KPIs are interrelated
  • You understand what is possible, and what the limitations are of data. You enjoy the challenge of balancing rigor with the realities of the business
  • You have experience building a rough roadmap and executing on it. You are comfortable breaking down problems into tasks for yourself and others if help is needed, and making small adjustments to priorities as necessary
  • You have a strong SQL background. You are comfortable spinning up a quick analysis or proof of concept data model
  • You have experience with both event data and tabular data

Bonus points if:

  • You have experience with our stack (BigQuery/GCP, Fivetran, Looker, Amplitude, Mode)

WE OFFER 💫

  • Health, Dental & Vision Plans
  • Competitive Pay
  • Matching 401k
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Lunch daily
  • Snacks & Coffee
  • Commuter benefits

Additional information: Salary range of $150,000 - $180,000 + bonus + benefits. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
