About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Date Engineer - RDBMS Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly PostgreSQL and AWS RDS, as well as a solid understanding of database migration processes and cloud-based database management. This role requires expertise in designing, deploying, administering, and migrating databases across diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Management: Deploy, manage, and administer relational database systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and AWS RDS.
• Migration Expertise: Execute complex database migration projects, including but not limited to source and target combinations such as PostgreSQL to Oracle, SQL Server to PostgreSQL, and Oracle to Snowflake.
• Cloud Database Operations: Leverage expertise in public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or others to manage and optimize RDBMS deployments.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance for both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Development Support: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Data Engineering: Support ETL/ELT processes and other data engineering tasks using RDBMS and cloud platforms.
• Governance: Ensure database security, backup, and recovery protocols comply with organizational standards and best practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing technical insights and recommendations for database-related initiatives.

 Key Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) with relational database systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and AWS RDS.
  • Proven track record of successful database migrations across platforms.
• PostgreSQL Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in deploying, managing, and optimizing PostgreSQL environments.
• AWS RDS: Hands-on experience with AWS RDS databases, including setup, administration, and scaling.
• Public Cloud: Minimum of [X] years of experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Primary Skills: Deployment, management, administration, development, migration, and data engineering related to RDBMS.
• Tools & Techniques: Familiarity with tools for backup, recovery, clustering, replication, and monitoring of databases.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, technical communication, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Degree in Computer Sciences. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in advanced migration scenarios, such as heterogeneous database migrations (e.g., Oracle to Snowflake).
• Knowledge of data warehousing, analytics, and ETL pipelines.
• Certifications in PostgreSQL, AWS, or other RDBMS/cloud technologies.
