The Lead Data Engineer will work closely with various cross-functional teams and operations to develop and deliver strategies, methodologies, and tools that provide demonstrable solutions to business partners. Successful candidates will exhibit technical and business acumen, with a passion for making an impact by enabling producers and consumers of data insight to work smarter. This role aims to provide our Supply Management organization with capabilities to advance our Digital Strategy to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality. This role will be expected to lead others on ad hoc projects identified by company leadership.
Job Responsibilities
- Organizational lead for multi-year Supply Management digital strategy, including development, refinement, and execution
- Work with a diverse set of clients across domains and industries
- Together with the H-D Digital Office, define the technical direction and architecture roadmap for Supply Management, and manage the implementation across a diverse set of components, including application development, identity and access management, networks, data management, and security
- Translate business needs into solutions via a methodical approach to opportunity identification, business case development, and implementation excellence
- Produce clear, concise, and repeatable documentation and templates that other team members can use without explanation
- Contribute to the overall solution, integration, and enterprise architectures
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- BS/BA in data engineering, software engineering, data science, computer science, applied mathematics, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience working on large-scale solution implementation and/or technology and process improvement projects
- Proven ability to integrate data from many sources, identifying yet unasked questions and capitalizing on opportunities to advance business goals.
- Expertise in developing ETL/ELT workflows
- Understanding of relational and warehousing database technology
- Experience working with streaming data
- A solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO Design with fundamentally strong programming skills
- Proven success working in and promoting a rapidly changing, collaborative, and iterative product development environment
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Intellectual curiosity and an ability to execute projects
- An understanding of "big picture" business requirements that drive architecture and design decisions
- Implementation of predictive analytics and machine learning models
- Demonstrated experience curating, developing, and preparing data for analytics. The ideal candidate will have experience with development platforms such as Azure, and knowledge of software such as Power BI and Alteryx is preferred but not required. Familiarity with techniques and methodologies for analyzing large data sets is preferred.
- Familiar with supply chain, manufacturing, 3PL, and Logistics application data is preferred but not required
- Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Power BI, SQL Database, Robotic Process Automation, and data analytics proficiency is a plus
The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
