Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Analytics, you will be contributing to increasing transparency, understanding and accessibility of data by non-technical users. You will thrive on autonomy, identify opportunities, and be passionate about taking our analytics capabilities to the next level through practical and structured approaches to data quality and governance. As an early member of a centralized team, you will have a unique opportunity to own and implement solutions to address a diverse set of data challenges. In this role you will be responsible for managing and implementing data governance policies, processes and standards to ensure the quality, accuracy, and security of corporate data assets.

You will...

  • Seek to deeply understand the needs of our data users, the nuances of our data sources, and build trust across a set of stakeholders within business, product, and engineering teams
  • Inventory and centrally maintain key business metrics and definitions 
  • Define and maintain new processes for governance approval, inclusive of cross-functional data needs
  • Manage data governance-related projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and effective implementation
  • Monitor data usage and access to ensure compliance with data governance policies
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of data governance processes and recommend improvements
  • Conduct data quality assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions
  • Develop and publicize data governance policies, best practices, and SOPs
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate stakeholders on data governance policies and best practices
  • Adhere to and role model standard internal procedures on work quality and documentation 

You have…

  • High level of accountability, customer-focused, consultative approach with stakeholders, comfort building expertise w/ new tools, and the ability to independently execute against goals
  • Strong understanding of data management and governance principles and best practices
  • Some years of experience with process mapping, data mapping, data risk identification & mitigation, data change management, and metadata management
  • Excellent project management skills and experience leading data governance initiatives
  • Ability to work independently on complicated projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of proficiency w/ SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies is a plus
  • Interest or experience with the following: Fivetran, Two-sided marketplace metrics, Git, DBT, Snowflake, Jira
