Summary of Role/Position

CarParts.com, Inc is seeking a Lead Data Scientist with strong experience and proven track record in developing automated solutions, machine learning models, statistical analysis and model experimentation. In this role you are going to leverage data to solve challenging business problems covering ecommerce, finance, supply chain, using statistical and ML approaches. The ideal candidate has a deep interest in data, business strategy, and consumer behavior and must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Interact with business stakeholders, set objectives, design full stack systems to identify and drive forward data science solutions
• Research and implement novel algorithms to optimize supply chain operations
• Lead a team of data scientists focused on developing and operationalizing data science solutions
• Provide team leadership, including growing, managing, and coaching a team of direct reports.
• Leverage pySpark and SQL to wrangle large amounts of data across different sources
• Apply solid coding skills, strong analytical thinking, and machine learning expertise to turn ideas into customer centric solutions
• Communicate complex analysis in a clean & simple way to multiple stakeholders by generating dashboards and reports

Minimal Requirements

• MS Degree in a quantitative field with significant background in coding and statistics

• 4-6 years full time experience in Data Science field

• Experience with building, deploying, and maintaining models and API's in production
• General machine learning expertise, i.e. regression, classification, and clustering algorithms, time-series analysis, Bayesian methods and NLP
• Experience preparing large, complex datasets for Machine Learning pipelines

• Highly proficient programming skills in Python, PySpark and SQL.

• Experience with Git
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience with AWS lambda
• passion to work with data

Preferred Experience

• PhD degree in quantitative field with peer reviewed publication and proven record of self-guided research
• Prior E-commerce experience
• Experience with DataBricks
