Lead Data Scientist

This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of advanced AI and machine learning solutions that power large-scale geospatial and spatial intelligence products. You will work at the intersection of computer vision, 3D data, and geospatial modeling, contributing to high-impact systems such as mapping, vegetation analysis, building footprint extraction, and transport infrastructure understanding. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional global teams, shaping both technical direction and product outcomes. You will act as a key driver of innovation, ensuring models and algorithms are scalable, production-ready, and aligned with real-world applications. Beyond technical execution, you will mentor engineers and data scientists, helping elevate AI/ML capabilities across the team. This is a highly collaborative and forward-looking environment where your work directly contributes to building next-generation spatial intelligence platforms.

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI/ML systems while ensuring technical excellence and alignment with business priorities. You will also guide team members and contribute to strategic decision-making across multiple product areas.

• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of AI/ML workflows, models, and algorithms across multiple product lines
• Collaborate on complex geospatial and spatial intelligence problems including vegetation analysis, building footprints, point clouds, and infrastructure modeling
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define priorities, technical approaches, and delivery roadmaps
• Develop and deploy machine learning models in cloud-based distributed environments using modern MLOps practices
• Ensure production readiness of models using containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Explore and implement emerging AI/ML methodologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve solution quality
• Mentor and coach team members to strengthen machine learning and AI capabilities across the organization
• Contribute across the full software lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring

Requirements

This role requires a highly experienced and technically strong data scientist with deep expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and distributed systems, along with strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Proven experience designing, building, testing, and deploying machine learning and AI solutions in production environments
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, computer vision, geometry, 3D mathematics, and point cloud processing
• Experience working in cloud-based distributed systems and Agile development environments
• Exposure to the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, and monitoring
• Hands-on experience deploying models using Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
• Proficiency in Python and Java/Scala; C++ experience is a strong advantage
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on scalable and efficient system design
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
• Experience working in cross-functional, global, and collaborative environments
• Strong mentoring mindset and ability to guide technical teams
